MBBS FRACP – Paediatric Allergist & Immunologist
Dr Rebecca Werther is a specialist Paediatric Allergist & Immunologist who graduated from Medicine at the University of Melbourne in 2001. She did her internship at the Royal Melbourne Hospital, followed by commencing specialty training in Paediatrics at the Royal Children’s Hospital in 2003. Rebecca started her fellowship training within the sub-specialty of Paediatric Allergy and Immunology in 2007. After taking maternity leave in late 2009/2010 to have her first child, Rebecca and her family moved to Queensland to complete her fellowship in the Allergy and Immunology Department at the Royal Children’s Hospital (Brisbane). Rebecca moved back with her family to their hometown of Melbourne at the end of 2012, with some time off in early 2013 with the birth of her second child. She joined ‘Peninsula Paediatrics and Allergy Centre’ in September 2013, where she has had a busy practice (as well as a third child born in 2015), until the centre’s closure at the end of 2016.
Rebecca has worked hard to establish a loyal network of referring doctors and patients, both locally on the Mornington Peninsula and from more distant regions, as she prides herself on building great rapport with patients and their families and ensuring parents feel heard in regards to their concerns.
Rebecca’s interests include food allergy (including unsettled babies), severe eczema, hayfever/allergic rhinitis, asthma and hives/urticaria of unclear cause. She is happy to see children from 0-18 years of age.
When not at work, Rebecca enjoys spending time with her husband and 3 extremely cheeky and gorgeous children.
Rebecca has also set up her own website, which contains specific information for her patients regarding allergy testing and ‘things to know’ prior to the appointment – www.stemallergy.com.au
Bookings for Rebecca are made directly through her Glen Iris rooms on (03) 8578 5661.
